BASS JAIL

Post by CHAMP »

In this photo we can see that there is a saddle going all the way across the creek. For the bass that live in the upper part of the creek do you think they are locked in that section, or will they cross the saddle?

Looked that area up on Navionics to blow it up a bit and see detail better and it shows a clear channel path through the cove. Do we know for sure which is the accurate version of the mapped area?

No don't know which is accurate most likely neither.
But this was just for thought, simply based on what is shown on map.
But what I need to know is how in the world did you find that?

Lol - I learned structure fishing when the only thing available was paper maps, so I got pretty good at reading them and being able to find spots on them. Just takes a small capture to get the ball rolling.

On your original question, I’d guess ‘yes,’ that some fish would cross that barrier (or go around it) since it appears that all the saddles are greater than 20 ft in depth, and you have holes on both sides of them that drop to 30-35 ft plus.

So did I but to find that little spot on that lake, even if I told you the name of the lake would be a feat.
But to find it without knowing the name of the lake, that could be any hundreds of lakes.
You must have some magical powers.
I challenge anyone else to find it.

Lol - “ancient Chinese secret”

I once found one of Larry Nixon’s spots on Kentucky Lake from a tiny black and white photo of a small map section that was part of an article on ledge fishing 8-)
