Frustrated with mossy bottoms

Post by Questor »

I've been getting pretty frustrated spoonplugging along bottoms with patches of moss on them. This is the only kind of lake I have in my area.

The moss fouls the plug, and I need to manually clear it. Is there a good way of dealing with this? I'm spending most of my fishing time reeling in and letting the plug back out.

Yanking hard to free the moss doesn't work.

Thanks.

Mossy bottom

Just what Buck tells you. Keep the lure just above the moss.

Maybe a small scrub brush with a handle like you might use to scrub your hands can be used to scrub the slimy moss off. A quick shake in the water will clear the brush.
