Crappie at the fish market?

I've spoken to some of the so called "old timers" in this area and the consensus is that there are a "few" crappie in the lake--but not many. They also note that a "couple" are caught in the Spring but after that --zilch.
The one option I have left is to pull my boat out and trailer it over to Saratoga Lake, about an hour away. Good lake for all species including Crappie. That would be in the Fall though. We'll see.....
