Platelet-rich plasma (PRP)

I read an article a few months ago about a tournament fisherman that was dealing with disabilitating tendonitis pain in his elbow from years of wear and tear from casting while fishing. It got me thinking, with the amount of trolling (and casting) spoonpluggers subject themselves to, which entails a steady amount of force on the shoulder and elbow and plently of bone jolting strikes from fish, what is the life span ones joints, tendons and muscles?
The articles I am linking to touch on technology that uses an persons own blood to create a super enriched concentation of platelets to accelerate healing. A patients blood is withdrawn, processed, and the PRP is injected via syringe back into the troublesome region. The good news is you have a sore knee or elbow, etc, there may be options other than surgery (invasive cutting) or ceasing activity.
