Re: SHOW US YOU RIG
BuTLER Troller,
I will get some pics on here this weekend. I have a boat very similar to yours. I'll show you what I did to make it more Spoonplugger friendly. I would love to see everyone's boat pics though.

Re: SHOW US YOU RIG
My first boat was a 1963 starcraft with a 196? 6hp Johnson, I spent many hours running spoonplugs FULL Throttle on those lake connected to lake Michigan up and down the Michigan coastline.
This Lund was my 3rd boat after the same one was totaled by a drunk driver. My first Ranger, I would recommend these boats to anyone. They are a bit heavy but tracked well and was a very stable platform to fish from. My Baby, I have been spoonplugging out of 680t since it was new in 1987 and about 5 years ago had a chance to get one for myself and would not fish out of another boat if I did not have to.

Bink, I too fish out of a 680........ A 1989 model that will be with me for a long time. If I ever get anything else, it will be a 14 or 15 ft jon boat with about a 15 hp for some of the smaller lakes near home. But my ranger will be by my side till its over. John
Re: SHOW US YOU RIG
BuTLER, those are nice rod holders. Did you make them? Do you have a plan for them?
Re: SHOW US YOU RIG
Butler,
Is that some type of file folder underneath the driver's seat? I like it and where did you get it? I'm tired of my papers almost blowing out of the boat.

Re: SHOW US YOU RIG
the rod holders were part of the boat,,but were in poor condition.I removed them and took them to a local woodwork shop that cut me some new ones,,,then I refinsihed them,,,,I think I still have the old ones that you could copy,,,I'll check and let you know!
the green box mounted on the drivers seat has a specfic purpose.a friend of mine is a master sheetmetal worker and made it for me.a picture will follow to show you what I use it for........

Re: SHOW US YOU RIG
This is an old boat I had way back when I use to do a lot of fishing up near "Table Rock" Arkansas. I remember the water table being somewhat high during those years .They knew me back then as chip. I always liked drinking me a good ol cup of hot coffee before getting on the water. (Get it,,coffee table ) Also, check out the set of legs on that baby. Just flip'er upside down and your ready to clean some fish, although it did make changing oil in the foot a little cumbersome, but when it came to turnen corners,,she was unbelievable. Ill have to say though,,it was definitely a package deal. Although she was a LEMON,,,I made a PLEDGE to never giver up. It just seemed like a splinted idea at the time,, however If I ever do have the desire to build a new replacement, and only because of the termites in the transom,,,,,,,I think Id just build it out of some good ol water oak, and let me tell ya,,,, that stuff ain notin to BARK about either! Just one more tip,,,,never jerk the rope to hard on these work of arks. You could easily end up with big ol pile of cordwood!!!!!!! =D> =D> " Sorry fellows,,,,I just could'nt resist this one."

Re: SHOW US YOU RIG
I would think you would have at least one chair to steer from and one in the front to cast from!
Plus 2-4 back-up chairs?

Re: SHOW US YOU RIG
Thanks BuTLER. I would appreciate that. I've tried several different rod holders, but they never hold up. Those look substantial.

Re: SHOW US YOU RIG
the green box is for my portable radio/cd,,,,gotta have tunes in da boat,,,,the pvc tubes with the wires coming out next to them are for my "porch lites"..these are great for night fishing,,,,just took some clamp on shop lamps,,,wired them with a toggle switch and put a rv (ac/dc bulb).,,,and you're ready.my center seat with the battery gauge ..i had cut that out and put my battery inside there,,,the carpeted board that my gas tank sits on ,,extends to the front inside edge of the center seat,,,and my battery box is strapped securely on the board as well.a few,,carefully measured sheetmetal screws holds that board to the ribs of the boat floor,,,does not move around,,,also if you can notice in any of the pictures,,in the back corner of the transom,,behind the radio/cd,,,,i have another carpted board back there with another battery box that i use for storage of essentials.

Butler,
Thanks for the pics. That radio holder gave me the idea to install a file holder for my notebook and maps.
