Navionics web app

The dipshits at Navionics stopped the web app. Very disappointing. You can still view maps, but you don't have all the options like before (no more measuring tool, toggle between standard maps or sonar charts). Below is a link for the new one now. It sucks that you can't view the maps full screen anymore....

Yes it is disappointing. I went on there the other day and thought I did something wrong. At least there is still access to it. I use it when I’m home to scout new areas.

Sad for sure Not sure if they Navionics stop it or sold it to Garmin. I used it quite a bit and was beginning to see some faulty information.
Will be interesting to see what Garmin does with other than charge heavy fees to use. The last couple years I have very few fisherman that really understand anything about contour maps

Garmin acquired navionics and it looks like Hal is right- charging heavy fees for use. It sucks now.

Brett told me about a place you can go for free to view maps that were shared by Lowrance users and quite a few lakes are totally mapped. Its called Lowrance Social maps. There are some lakes that are not totally mapped but many show the entire lake. It may be worth taking a look at. I have always felt like Navionics maps sucked. I used to troll lake Wawasee a lot and I knew when I was exactly on the tip of a major bar out in the middle of the lake. The map showed the finger I was sitting right on over 100 feet away. Hummingbird has the best maps. Puts Navionics to shame. I really don't see where having a perfect map is much of a benefit. Anyone who can follow a breakline can easily find any key feature in a short period of time. A general map showing a rough shape is all that is needed for a start. The rest is up to the fisherman to interpret the important details. Interpretation is a big part of the game. John

Thanks for sharing TurboJim! Decent data base of maps. I've never seen this one before.
