Winter Jigging for Catfish with Plastics

Post by TurboJim »

You would be surprised at how LiveScope can show you things about fish that you would have never known. This is definitely a great aid that shows you the behavior of different species of fish and how they relate to structure and water temperature. I did speed up the movement of the fish 2x in the video as the catfish are lethargic.

Good stuff. Do you notice any adverse effects to fish behavior as they are exposed to the LS signal?

Hey Joe,

I have noticed that fish in 5 FOW will move away from the boat when I use Perspective view. Most likely the shadow of the boat on the bottom is bothering the fish. I don't think the sound waves bother the fish.

I have been a livescope guy for two years now and not once have I seen any fish run when they are in the area where they are seen on the screen. I have seen them run from my bait as it gets near to them and also seen them run over to it and eat it. That part of why has already been written. Fish become active once or twice a day and you better be doing it right when those times are happening. Outside of that time the fish are active, you need to put your lure in their face at a slow speed or use a bottom bumping lure in the summer and make them take with the right speed. It don't matter if your trolling or casting, we are waiting for them to get active before we can make a great catch. The livescope is a great tool that can give more information to a person that already has good spoonplugging knowledge. John
