Its Begun...

Morning all. Yesterday I went to the cabin because I want to have my wood fireplace converted to gas. When I got there i saw some open water. Not a lot considering there is almost 11 miles if ice but its a start.

My lake is also subject to tremendous ice push. Of course in my search I picked a cabin on the downwind side to the prevailing winds. Last year while I was cabin shopping, there was so much ice that it actually crashed into cabins about 3 mile north if me.

I stopped worrying about it because my boat house is right in the water and its fine and there is a line of big trees well within ice range of shore and they look just fine. However, my luck can be quite bad...we’ll see I guess.

How close are you to Izayts? This was from 2013. That was a nasty winter though, a lot worse than this year. Can't wait to come up and fish the big water this year.

Izaty’s is on the South side of Mille Lacs. I am South East side north of Isle Bay.

Big Point is North of me about 5 miles. It may but i dont think so.

I saw video from yesterday of Ice crashing the shore. So the Mille Lacs Glaciers are happening now
