A friend Bob Roels sent me this link. Check out the speed control this guy uses, and the NOISE he is making to get the fish going!
Reminds me of the story Buck told in the home study, he was banging on the side of the boat to get the perch to bite!

This guy is quite the character! We need to send Duplex down there to fish with him!
He also seems somewhat knowledgeable, he is fishing breaklines in the main channel.
I love the boat thumping! The noise gets the fish going!

When fishing the Salton Sea in Southern California one sure method to attract and fire up the Corvina involved pounding on the gunwales or deck of your boat. The Salton Sea was a bountiful fishery at one time. Often described as the best in the country as per catch rates to minutes fished. The Corvina's primary prey was the Orange Mouth Croaker. As their name illustrates the Croaker would grunt, or groan when in schools. Pounding on the gunwales would attract the Corvina. Usually when trolling the bottom breaks in the Sea we would thump various rhythms until the Corvina turned on. I would fish with 3 of the top guides that worked the Sea, usually releasing most fish. One fellow in particular, Lefty Pugh, was said to have stomped the bottom out of at least one boat a year.
