Re: enough already!!
Patience guys - It is still FEBRUARY...often the coldest month of the year for us  Before global warming, we NEVER expected to hit open water until mid March around here. February was boat show month. Yes, it happened once or twice a decade, but I think we've been spoiled a bit these past f...

Re: Breakline Club?
Here is one for you to think about. Page 131 in the green book. " The next situation shows a school of bass with their home area on a clean spot out in the middle of a channel, or a hole that is 40 feet deep. The clean spot is surrounded by quite a large area of 40 foot of water, giving it a s...

Re: MLF Lake Kissimmee
Just for clarification, the final round that Jim posted the scoreboard to was held on Lake Garcia. The five previous rounds including the knockout round were held on the Kissimmee Chain of lakes. There were five 6 pounders weighed in the Shotgun round (Kissimmee Chain - Days 1 & 2). There were f...

Re: Navy Pier Perch fishing
Awesome - so jealous
My parents are from Chicago and my Dad fished for perch and smelt all the time when he was growing up. Took me a couple times as a kid before moving away, but that was over 45 yrs ago. Still tell myself one of these days I'm going back up there for a perch trip.

Re: Question about fish pathways on structure
Steve got the 'S' right = saddle 8-) The yellow areas are where I would do some mapping as these appear to be specific structures I might expect the fish to move to/on. Once you've mapped them you can go to work, both casting and trolling. The other areas would just get trolling passes by me until p...

Re: Question about fish pathways on structure
Harold - For what it's worth, here's my initial interpretation of that area with creek/river in red, and more specific areas I'd be working in yellow. Keep in mind that the guidelines are for largemouth bass as the model. Other fish like white bass, walleye, stripers, pike, etc. tend to be more roam...

Re: Question about fish pathways on structure
Harold - you're on the right track of thinking. Don't have access to anything specific I could post from Buck while on my cell, but shallow water is any water less than 8-10 feet in depth. As long as that area of shallow water is located on or adjacent to structure (via breaks and breaklines), and c...

Re: Ray Roberts Lake
Looks like a predominantly lowland reservoir to me (Lowland 1?), with perhaps some hints of flatland to it in the upper reaches of the major creek arms. Clear water thanks to zebra mussels along with milfoil and other vegetation. Max depth near 100', but most a little shallower (50'-75'). Have to go...

Welcome aboard, Tim. Lots of good guys in your neck of the woods. Wish I was closer as those lakes seem to put out a lot of fish.
