Re: What type of reservoir am I?

My immediate first thought was 'Highland' but after researching it a bit more, I can see the argument for Lowland. The high elevation mountain lakes are all in the far western portion of the state, whereas this is more centrally located. Additionally, all the aerial images I looked at of the lake sh...

Re: Ice fishing

Welcome - just an opinion, but you still follow the guidelines. Obviously you can't cast or troll, but you can vertical jig just as if you were in a boat. This will mean slower speed control, but this time of year that is usually quite appropriate. The only other difference is pretty much having to ...

Re: Don Dickson - Pro Structure

Just a guess, but I believe these are being produced by a former colleague of Don's who worked on the originals with him, but he may not be able to use Don's name in promoting them without Don's permission. That might be why they don't come up in a search using Don or the old company name.

Re: Don Dickson - Pro Structure

Only thing I can think of would be the obvious, that being possible copyright infringement. They are still being sold digitally by a former associate of Don's via "The Fishing System" website and online. Might check and see if it's all the same stuff.

Re: Some pics I thought were interesting

Bear with me but I have questions about these two spots after a couple times through the green book. Would it be safe to say the where the grass starts is where migrations start and when I was not catching them up shallow on my new magic flopwaterspinnercrank that more than likely it was bad weathe...

Re: Newbie to the structure fishing world - MN

Welcome! Any boat is a good boat, but you'll have your work cut out for you having a "wheel" boat (steering wheel). You'll still be able to anchor and cast once you have structures mapped and know best anchoring positions, but trolling (and mapping) will be a little tricky. You might be ab...

Re: Hey from East TN!

Welcome! You're down in some great fishing territory. The Green Book is a big eye opener for those who take the time to read it. Even more impressive is that most of what is written there, he had already hashed out about 25 years previous. Buck was a true pioneer in this regard.

According to the National site, there is a club in NJ called North East Spoonpluggers (N.E. Splgrs) which lists Jim Mason as the contact person.

Re: Home study books compared to green book

I don't really believe so. The Green book was written first, a one stop shop for everything spoonplugging. The Home Study course came later, about 640 pages worth of material broken down into sections (booklets/study guides) that go into a bit more detail regarding specific chapters found in the Gre...
