Bass Island poachers update/ Wisconsin poachers
Here is an update on the poachers from bass island and a new story from Hayward Wisconsin SANDUSKY -- Three Tennessee men and three Georgia men who pled guilty last month to taking 141 more smallmouth bass on Lake Erie than the legal limit, lost three boats and trailers and were fined a total of $16...

Re: Sale pending
Here is a nice boat for a decent price http://chautauqua.craigslist.org/boa/1762573171.html I have also thought about this one, the 151 standared but Im not sure if you can remove the back bench. Not a bad price for a new boat, motor and trailer. http://www.scoutboats.com/pdfs/Newsletter-Spring-09.pdf

Re: Ranger for sale
just curious why are you parting with the boat? I have used one before and it handled well, im confident with the boat on either small lakes or large bodies of water... lots of room to move around I was impressed. I have fished out of alot of different types of boats and it ranks high in my book. A...

Ethanol problems with 2 strokes
Here is a link to some gas stations listed by state where you can find ethanol free gas.
Since we don't have any ethanol free gas around here I'v started using Stabil every fill-up and have noticed a huge difference in my equipment and outboard.

Mr.Bales
First off it was very nice to meet you at the seminar.
I think the reason he would have you contour troll that deep would be to evaluate and interpret the structure.

Re: Saddle vs Hump
Big structure - certainly more than one answer. I agree After further thought and discussion I resized how complex this really is. Things we need to know as a Spoonplugger 1. Time of year 2. Weather 3. Water color 4. Species 5. Seasonal migration Things we need to do as spoonpluggers to figure this...

Re: Saddle vs Hump
Fran I agree that the inverted Saddle is not a structure situation but I did understand what he was trying to say. When the fish get active in the sanctuary the conditions MAY not and probably are not good enough to go all the way to the shallows. But they could easily find there way to a saddle, st...

Re: Saddle vs Hump
Fran I could be completely wrong but I agree with David. I was taught that "A saddle is the deeper area between two shallower areas". I would not go as far as calling your definition "A Inverted saddle" but more a ridge, hump or deep flat. Now again I could be completely wrong on...

Re: Fishing Deep
Steve, I completely agree with jerry on the thermocline, we had a very similar experience fishing deep clear norther wisconsin lakes on very hot summers. We could not buy a fish on structures that always produced, then moved out to the thermocline and hit some of the biggest pike that we had ever ta...
