Jim are your 109's in need of repair/rebuilding? I've rebuilt six or eight of them an they work like new. Parts are available and rebuild is pretty easy.

As far as color for starting out, Buck recommended "neutral" colors; good in either bright or dark conditions. Just ask Buck's Baits for neutral colors and they'll pick 'em for you. Citadel59.

Another good video Brian. I remember casting into huge schools of white bass in TX(they call 'em sand bass, "sandies there) with a small spoon similar to the one you were using. You'd get one on every cast; like shooting fish in a barrel so to speak. I don't know if he was speaking literally or...
