Re: Canyon Reservoirs

Brother Dave, Thank you for your kind words. Isnt God's creation fantastic! These are Desert Bighorns. The guy standing on the rock is an immature ram. He only has about a 3/4 curl in those big horns. But that guy to the right is a BIG full curl ram and a shooter for sure. You remember those great a...

Canyon Reservoirs

Canyon Type Reservoirs Buck tell us over and over again that when fishing Canyon reservoirs we are to look for the "dirt". Most of the time the dirt is few and far between, and we need to make a run and find it. AND that a "Slide" or "wash" will be the best structure si...

Re: Kiwiat on my way home for Vacation

Josh,
Watch your top knot when over there and take care. Not only will we murder some fish, but we will put the hammer on a Lynx or two, and a Wolf as well.
Looking forward to meeting you there when you get home again.

Re: JB2 Catch

Douglas, You are sure making one of Bucks points that he used to talk about all the time. " you cant tell someone that dont know, they dont know! It is glaringly apparent that you ignorance is shining brightly here. And like Buck told me once, "nothing wrong with being ignorant, it just me...

Will post a report of my trip to Bartlett when I get back from a fast trip to Idaho. I think you all will like the pics I got. Gotta go pick up a new truck from Dave Smith Motors. Flying up there in the morning and driving it back to AZ. I always save $8000 to $14,000 per rig by buying at this whole...

Re: Depth Meters: the old needle units

Pretty simple really...... Don Dickson and I were on a shallow dishpan lake way back in 78. I watched in awe as Don went out and showed me how easy it was to see a 6 inch breakline using that old meter! All you had to do was watch that needle out of the corner of one eye, while marking a line of sig...

Re: Kiwiat on my way home for Vacation

Thank you Josh!

Have fun with all your "stuff" when you get home.

On a side note, I just read in one of the old Spoonplugger newsletters from 1999 about a 10 year old "kid" from Georgia catching his first 10+ pound bass with his Dad.
The Dad's name was Doug Travis! Hehehe!

Re: Depth Meter

I still have mine, but do not want to sell it. Works perfect to this day. I still keep it for Florida lake fishing, as it will read a 6 inch depth change. Jeri Perry had one that went up for auction last year. It never got to the minimum bid, so it was pulled. I assume she still has it. Might try gi...

Re: Another question for John and others

Dead on Bink! At least as far as I am concerned. So my opinion only. Hours of daylight.......... It is what causes the geese/birds to migrate. The furbearer's pelts to prime, even in very warm climates, and the ungulates to start their rutting. So it only makes sense to assume that hours of daylight...

"it should start to happen after the first big frost." What if it doesnt frost, say.....in Phoenix Az.? Or Southern Calf.? Southern NM? South Texas? Jim, Pretty good answer. But this doesnt apply in the Spring time, as research has shown that in the spring when the fish move to the shallow...
