Re: Highland Reservoirs

" I enjoy it when everyone associated with spoonplugging is having success" I believe Bryan WAS having success doing what he listed. At least when I fished with him, he smoked my butt 10 to 0 fishing those areas. While, like you, I would not have considered those spots, I tend to keep an o...

Re: Highland Reservoirs

Ouch! No need in saying something that would get you banned John....... You are too good of a fellow to lower yourself to say or do something like that. Take the high road and try to help both of them, not just tell Bryan he is full of it. We need more Spoonpluggers, not fewer. Both these guys are n...

Re: Highland Reservoirs

Kevin, When these dry washes wash material down from above, they deposit that "dirt, rock, boulders etc., out in the mouth of the wash downstairs. The wash actually forms a bar with the deposited material. You will not, in most cases but not always, have 2 bars on each side of the wash. The washe...

Re: Highland Reservoirs

Kevin, While DVL did not have a "river" it does have lots and lots of "wash" cuts. And since it was in a big giant "wash", the water had to run somewhere before it was dammed and flooded. My map shows a very nice channel at the lower end, running into Dam 2. Since there...

Re: Feb 1980 part 2

Kevin, If I remember correctly, that pic with Buck was a promotion picture for the boat, and the reason almost no stuff in there with him. I had bought one of that very same design in March of 1979. It was a great boat. Also, I believe we all tend to carry too much stuff with us. I remember my first...

Re: Navionics Lake of the week 4-15-13

Muskyball, First, welcome to the board. Good question also. Most of the time we see very little if any thermocline on these types of reservoirs. UNLESS!.........they shut down the water flow so low as to stop all current. This does happen on some of these lakes from time to time. THEN.....you will s...

Re: Navionics Lake of the week 4-15-13

Here is another interesting tidbit to contemplate. On many deep humps out here on these clear suckers, those topping out at 15 to 30 feet, we see nice schools of bass using them, even though they dont "go all the way to the shallows". Why is this? They are not supposed to be there accordin...

Re: Navionics Lake of the week 4-15-13

Fran, On page 73 of the Green book, you will see pretty much what really is on these clear water reservoirs. Last summer, I cant recall catching a fish shallower than 32 feet (good weather condition)the entire summer and fall. Many came from much deeper.(47-60') If you have a dark yellow green or a ...

Re: Spoonpluggers across America

To clarify............. I was not saying that people in the south are dumb, or ignorant or anything of the like! :| Hardly the case. But some people (Wayne) read my post above and then start spreading rumors that I was calling them dummies. I didnt make that statement..........Buck did! :x He said i...
