Re: Lures
Been using mine for several months now. They have been in Bass Pro and Sportsmen Wearhouse since June out here. Love them. They go DEEEEP! and they go down fast. You will like them I am sure. Gino makes some of the old Bombers that go deeper than any floating lure I have ever used. Love his too! We ...

Re: Terror Threats, mid sized town GA
Ronnie, Many live their entire life and never get to experience what you were blessed to do. Nothing like it in life.Watching a Mtn Lion laying 20 to 50 yards away, staring at you or your decoy trying to decide if he want s to attack or retreat, and the only part of his body that is moving is the la...

Re: How to strain the shallows...
Welcome to the board Dennis. Good to have you back to Spoonplugging.
Buck always warned us to "never assume where the fish have to be". Another great hand rule of his, and he had many. Funny how we tend to forget that point!
Glad you found them.

Re: How to strain the shallows...
" I was thinking that moving shallower might be worth trying - if I manage to pick up multiple fish in an area I can work deeper and try to figure out where they are coming from.. kind of the reverse of what the book says," No........this is exactly what the "book" says! It is ex...

Re: How to strain the shallows...
Kraig, You got some great advice above. One of the guidelines Buck always taught was to learn how to troll the shallows BEFORE trolling the deep. He taught to run the 500, 400, and 250 series lures. In order to do that, you had to keep them bumping the bottom in order to keep them "in Position&...
Re: Wire Lie
I just us a second empty reel. Fill the second reel with backing,
reel the old line onto it, and you are good to go.
No trees, mailboxes and garages to deal with this way.

Re: Lake St. Clair with Jim & Gino: Day 3 Part 1: BIG MUSKIE
LOL!
In that one pic of you above with the big Musky, it looks like poor Gino is crying so hard he had to remove his glasses to wipe his eyes!
Shame on you for catching that Musky and making him cry!

Welcome to the board Navyangler. First off the Home of the fish is deep water. In this case, the deepest water in the area we are fishing. You are wise to choose this area, literally fishing a "lake within a lake". Looking at your map, you and i must spend our time where we have the best c...

Re: March 1975
Fran, Believe me, the Spinner bait and driving right through the brush, tree tops, and stick ups works! When Jim pointed me in that direction, it was one of those head slap moments. No need losing a bunch of Spoonplugs to the brush and trees when a Spinner Bait will simply slide right through the thi...
