Jim,
I havent seen one for years.
I switched to the Okuma line counters, and havent looked back. I love them. Tough reels, and unlike the Diawa's, the line counter doesnt seem to break.
I just use the drag and my thumb for the most part.
Once you get used to them, you wont go back.

Re: Buck Perry
Phil, I know this is a "hand rule" thing, but in general, most of the breaklines are pretty consistant as far as depth goes, and then they will simply "peter out" for no apparent reason. But as was mentioned before........a true Florida type breakline might be 50-100 yards wide a...

Re: Buck Perry
I do understand about where the muck meets a firmer bottom is the "muck line". I was just explaining about the stirred up layer that is OVER the heavy muck. Here is a screen shot I took showing fish over the muck. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg51/SteveCraig0770/2012_0528Spoonpluggin...

"For context, if you were to lay a big layer of sour cream down and then at the edge pour an equal amount of shaving cream next to the sour cream. The line where they meet at the edge is our muck line. I know the Vexilar units and StructureScan can find this kind of situation." Much but no...

Phil
Go ahead and post what John told you!
I know the lakes have changed over the years.
The muck lines have moved quite a bit as well too.
Kenny told me that on Kissimmee there were no muck lines where they used to be the last time he fished there.
Those bad hurricane s really mess things up.

Re: Buck Perry
Phil, Good luck on your move to Florida! If I were you, I would spend more time on the Butler chain. The water tends to be deeper on them than they are on the Harris Chain. Like I said earlier. when they draw them down, usually 3 feet or so, this will make a huge difference in your fishing. The figu...

Re: Buck Perry
"Mr. Perry told me that the Florida lakes are very over rated and there are far better places to fish." I agree! Especially out here! Even with our clear water, we have just as big of bass as Florida(probably even bigger), and you can still catch a dandy even under a bad weather condition....

Re: Buck Perry
" I had no reason to question his direction. It could have been that he did not know me and figured I didn't deserve to know or simply didn't want to share." John, This is actually a pretty good subject to discuss on here. Even to this day there are Spoonpluggers that do not want the info ...
