Welcome Tim.
Life is a series of choices we make.
You just made one of the best choices ever!
Like others have said, STUDY the material, then go on the water and put it in practice.
Don't get discouraged when it doesn't work out the first time, but just stay with it, and fishing success will come,

Re: How to Troll a Spoonplug on a Hump?
Also, John Bales & Stephen Gillian, made a really great video a few years ago, showing how to do this. He also showed how to locate them trolling as well as how to find the fingers,, turns, etc. I dont know if these are available any more, and if they are not......they should be. It was an excel...

Re: How to Troll a Spoonplug on a Hump?
Joe, On any hump, the first thing you need to do is find the crown. You do this by trolling as it is the fastest way. Once you see a hump on the map, simply go to the area and preform a trolling grid. Several passes east to west, then west to east then throw a marker on the shallowest spot you find,...

Re: How to Troll a Spoonplug on a Hump?
Joe, The 15 foot hump will be a dead end. There is a 47 foot FLAT between it and the channel. Fish would never know it is there. Also, it doesnt go all the way to the shallows.(less than 10 feet deep) So even if the deepest water was close to it, I would give it a pass or two and then move on. The 1...

Re: kids catching some nice fish
What a great day! Cant beat the kids doing the catching.
PB's and those smiles!
You have a nice family Brett!
Enjoy them to the max because one day they will leave the nest and you will wonder where the time went.

Re: Education
Thank you Jim for your fine post. The 20 to 35 year old millenials, certainly are a "different mentality group", to say the least. 1 in 200 might be a little weak. More like 1 in 300. The are the same as far as employees go too. They don't see or think like the generation before them. Not ...

Re: Education
Wow Bunk! Have any facts to back up those accusations? I've spent hundreds of hours with Don. In the boat, in the classroom, and helping with the seminars in 1980 and 81. Never heard that one before. I can only tell you that the man I know as Don Dickson was and is a good Christian man. Time spent w...

Re: Education
""Maybe I’ll be wrong but some old guy sitting at a table in Florida telling fishing stories is not going to bring spoonplugging back."" I, for one, am glad this "old guy" is trying to teach a new generation about the facts of fishing. Don is an educator. Probably one o...
