Bryon, Welcome to the forum. Glad you came back! Start reading all the older post, read the Green Book and the Home Study course, and then STUDY them all over again. Check out the video links here as well. AND.......ask questions. If you dont ask, you will not know. Simple as that. Again welcome. St...

Re: Florida fishing with Don & Donnie!!!

John,
This is Tiffany, Dons Daughter in Law and Donnies wife. Seems like the women always are the lucky one! LOL. Ive only taken 3 over 9 pounds, and cant seem to crack that 10 pound mark. They are out here. I am just not at the right place, at the right time, fishing in the right manner I guess!

Re: Florida fishing with Don & Donnie!!!

John Know what you mean. I learned the rifle sight system of when to turn out or in from Tommy Ferencek way back. There is a big hump on Lake Harris with a 13 foot breakline that has 3 such areas on it. if you dont start your turn when you line up, you cant hit the 'spot" on the breakline. I sh...

Re: mapping

What John said. Also do it using a Flasher. The old Needle units would show you even a 6 inch breakline. If you still cant see them, then do it like Buck used to do before depth finders. Run the Spoonplugs from shallow to deep in each size, and use each size with different line lengths. ( short, med...

Re: Trolling Reel

Hoosierfan, Yes, the Okumas will fit Bucks Rods. I use a couple different models. the Smaller Magda for when I use NOBO or Braid. The Convector for my Wire line. I have worn out the Magda 20 on a couple models, so switched to the Magda 30. Larger handle and they seem to hold up well. FWIW, i am hard...
