Re: people

Hello Larry!!! Glad you are still alive and kicking! Yes, the shutting down of almost everything in this country, even including boat ramps was and is crazy. I have been traveling all over the USA this year, mostly with helping out the kids in various places, and was able to do some fishing in other...

Re: Following Roadbeds

L2L, Rest assured, the fish can see that roadbed! A 6 inch rise is a Mountain to a fish. While our depth finders will usually not show a rise at all, or just flat area. Your contact point will be right there where to road hits the channel, so that is where you want to spend your time anyway. Yes the...

Re: The drop shot

""I think the biggest big catches will come from the deep. But those catches can be quite difficult and not regular."" I have to agree 100%. Today, this is even MORE the case. More difficult due to clearer water, and deeper contact points, which equals deeper sanctuary's. Buck su...

Re: The drop shot

Absolutely this happens. Super clear water, unstable weather come to mind. They get ACTIVE, but dont move or migrate. The reason the Drop shot works so well. But a fellow really needs to know where that Contact Point is for sure, to put that little lure right in their face. It also happens to us eve...

Im staying with them.
Had hondas now for the last 25 years or so.
All my Spray paint riggs are hondas and zero issues in over 35 years.
They just keep going.

Dthompson, first ....welcome to the board. That said, I would like to caution you on the lake you have chosen to learn to Spoonplug on. This lake is a BAD lake for a beginner. You would be well advised to try another lake like: Puddingstone Arrowhead Silverwood Matthews Now DO what the book says. Ru...

Re: Keeping records

Great questions and excelllent answers for sure. We need more of these type discussions. Im not John, but this question stikes a nerve for me. ""what is the most important thing you think Spoonpluggers need to do to get better?"" I would be willing to bet that John will say, and ...

Re: Keeping records

Interesting..... My son Zach ( now deceased), and I hit what you are talking about on Roosevelt one time. We started at a big cove entrance and were working our way along and were about half way back when he caught a 4 pounder on a Spinner Bait in about 2 feet of water, almost on the bank. I was run...
