Re: The best is coming (for me)
This will be the first time in a long set of years that I can take advantage of the fall fish migrations. Mille Lacs. That and being able to wait out the weather. Some of the BEST catches I have ever had come in the fall. Howard is also coming for two weeks of fishing so my November is really going ...

Re: Spoonpluging
There are a lot of factors that affect this stuff. It would be lying that I am not having a bit of a struggle fitting what I am seeing into our basic guideline. A lot of what I am seeing is what I am experiencing on Mille Lacs this summer. Scattered bites, bigger fish shallower than expected despite...

Re: Working Big Water
Bink, Even with my experience and all the expensive electronics, I still have to do the basic work of going back and forth with a lure out learning the structure. With so much water 145,000 acres I can’t just use my experience to catch fish. I could get a guide, I could just pick a direction and sta...

Working Big Water
2022 started with a huge life crisis for me and I found myself much more time to fish than I have had in years. Granted I got a late start because of a boat lift issue, everything is up and working and I am on the water pretty strong. Three years ago I bought a cabin on Lake Mille Lacs. After the Na...

Mille Lacs 7-28-22
After many years of talking about making videos and buying cameras here's a video. I have been watching videos about multi-camera systems.
The weather blew and was very rough.

Re: Buck’s Long Handle Trolling Rods
Walt,
Good Luck. Those are like finding unicorns. I actually had to have someone take my standard Spoonplugging rod and build a handle into it. And I’m sorry to say that I haven’t spoken to that person in a long time.

Re: Bottom Bumping
I mostly will be trolling deep 25' to 40' for walleyes. Should I expect to hang up a lot until I get used to trolling breaks and should I make up some sort of "stump knocker" or something else to free my spoonplugs? I had originally planned on using the 12# NoBo for 15 foot or less and 15...
Re: Finally…
Hello from Scotland! I was just reviewing the past posts from this thread and I had to laugh. Especially the comment about saving the shoulder. There is definitely a difference between expectations and reality. What I was expecting was 2 finger easy control even at high speed and be able to take my ...

Re: Structure and Contact Point
I dont agree with that being the contact point. Unless I’m looking at the map wrong. There appears to be a contact point by the ‘C’ by the word contact point…

Re: Tournament Trolling
To add to the story… Terry and a few other Spoonplugger’s were going to tournaments and winning. People were actually not signing up for the tournaments if they saw Terry and these guys entered. So Ray asked Mr Perry what he could do to make it a more even playing field. The answer was don’t let the...
