Re: Saddle vs Hump
Bink, A deeper area between a two shallower areas is a "slot". Attached are two sections out of the home study course. You're right of course with some of your other questions and that may be why I haven't had any success on this particular structure but I haven't been able to put a lure o...

Re: Saddle vs Hump
Now after doing some research and making some phone calls there should be some clarification. However, I am correct. First, Saddles are a high area between two deeper sections. They can be VERY important but not all saddles are the same. The deeper the saddle is the better it will be. In fact if the...

Re: Our government wants us to stop fishing
Heck if I know. Maybe it's not a hoax but the post that I listed seems pretty good. Just the outright costs, state control of natural resources, and enormous amounts of money spent by tax payers for ramps, land, parks for fishing makes this whole thing kind of hard to swallow. Plus I am I not seeing...

Re: Saddle vs Hump
I've been rereading the Green book and I don't understand the difference between a saddle and a hump. Any help is appreciated! Dean Definitions can be an issue. Thanks for asking and never feel uncomfortable asking. Welcome! Hump - Think of it as a pile of something rocks, dirt, gravel anything. Ca...

Re: Side scan depth finders
just to be clear, I used a winch for about 3 trips then put it in the garage. Just too much bs involved. It's arm strong anchor service in my boat.

Re: Side scan depth finders
Well Jim all I can say is there won't be a next time when it comes to getting blown off a spot. As to the hernia, I don't know. I will admit when I first bought it I had trouble lifting it and bought an electric winch. However it didn't take long to get the strength needed to heft the big boy around...

Re: Side scan depth finders
Last year when I got blown off the casting position 3 times (in someone else's boat) because the anchor was too light, I wasn't just mad - I was enraged. We managed to get 12 fish but it should have been more. Like I said, if you don't pee when you pick up the anchor - it's too lite.

Re: question about what is in the.....
IF YOUR DOING SOMETHING THAT WORKS, I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS. SPNPLGRKENNY Now don't take this the wrong way Kenny, but as I recall your boat was doing things different at Lake Erie when we were there. When you were catching all those big fish and we weren't, I don't recall being told what you did...

Re: question about what is in the.....
You fish as close to bottom as you can. We are constantly fighting muck, weeds, zebra muscles, snags, logs, boulders. You will lose a few lures but by finding the exact line length you will just tick the high spots. Even first timers will eventually be able to tell you how many layers they need. My ...
Re: Snowing
Yep, It snows in Hawaii.
There is a ski resort and everything on a couple of Volcanoes. Used to sell trips to Hawaii with both skiing and surfing.
Been that way for ever

Re: Spoonplug hooks
I do. And so do a lot of others. Your right, it's frustrating to knock a big fish and have the hooks either break or not get a good hold. I figured I wasn't sharpening them correctly but I think for a while the quality of the hooks wasn't good enough for decent sharpening. I think Scott changed the ...

Re: Side scan depth finders
I have the heavy anchor in the front. if we start swinging I use a smaller anchor at the stern.
