Re: Instant Messages?
Joe, There are forums that have IM others that don't. It just depends on what people want. Up until now no one has asked for it. We have a chat room and that didn't last long. Also it depends on cost too. I'm not sure if this provider offers chat. Btw... My work schedule is waay different now. Expec...

Re: Lake of the week
I would look at where the main channel and feeder cuts come together. About an inch and a half up from the dam, the main channel does a short abrupt turn. Either side of it looks like there are bars. Because there is a change in direction of the water it must be hard or something different there. My...

Re: Deepest Water In The Area
Most of us haven't had a chance to fish reservoirs like this highland you describe which is why some of the answers you got we're less than helpful... If we forget water color for now, most of us really wouldn't care much about how much water below 60' there is. Other than what side of the bar is de...

Re: YEARS PAST, SUBMITED WINTER SEMINAR QUESTIONS
Other reasons you'd use wire besides depth.... I like to use wire when I'm trying to work a lake with a tall weed line. If I can keep the line short and still hold the depth with a big lure, I can work closer to the edge. Sometimes lure size is an issue. I will use wire to take a smaller lure deeper...

Re: Need info on boat and motor.
14 ft big jon is a stable boat and you can rig it with seats and stick a depth meter and an anchor and you are ready to get going. Easy to launch on and off the trailer and a good solid boat. It comes with a live well too. John Amen... I do have my Ranger but I have a 14' Big Jon. And I LOVE it. I ...

Re: New to Spoonplugging
My schedule for 2013 is open and I hope to be at a number of events this year. As to the Jamborree, well I have to say that because of the low turn out - there won't be a jamboree in 2013. I can't say we won't ever have another one but we're going to have to let the bruises heal a bit first. I have ...

Re: New to Spoonplugging
I know that guys living in Chicago drive the 2 hours to there best lakes for day trips all the time. I personally don't have to and if you don't need to thats great. I was making a suggestion. I advertised a Lowrance HDS 7 Gen2 for sale. It's brand new in the box (never opened) and it is surplus to ...

Re: New to Spoonplugging
I don't know where my post went but I will try again. I'm not familiar with your area but I know I've seen Bass tournaments on the east cost showing guys competing in the rivers that actually dump into the ocean. It may be possible that you have some bass populations in the longer rivers/inlets. Jus...

Re: My new hobby
Gino,
Check Out Larry Dahlberg's MakeLure site. I've been thinking about doing some of the lures myself but I'm kind of a klutz when it comes to this kind of stuff.
I hope semi-retirement works out for you. Hoping for a similar situation stating in January.

I know what it says about posting in 'The Pub'. I didn't touch anyone's post nor take a position. I am saying I'm really starting to get uncomfortable. That's all.

I'm not enjoying this thread. I think if your not posting about fishing (even in the Pub) you're wasting your time.

Red,
Depending on the boat, your combination isn't so bad. Plus while an existing injury you're going to have to be comfortable. You lose some control but you'll compensate.
I have a Ranger 175t with a 70. I do pretty good - when I actually get to go.
