Re: Something I noticed
I always found that this time of the year fishing is very hit or miss. As you mentioned John, the "change" starts happening (unstable). Went down to central and southern Il a week ago. Fished 2 lakes I know very well. A few small bass on one lake and zero on the other. This changing/unstab...

Re: Navionics web app
Thanks for sharing TurboJim! Decent data base of maps. I've never seen this one before.

Navionics web app
The dipshits at Navionics stopped the web app. Very disappointing. You can still view maps, but you don't have all the options like before (no more measuring tool, toggle between standard maps or sonar charts). Below is a link for the new one now. It sucks that you can't view the maps full screen an...

Here's another video. All the walleyes were caught right off the Alter road ramp area.

Re: Early spring smallmouth
Casey just got off the water today. Started for smallies, caught 25, but not many out deeper, most were caught in the shallows and smaller ones. Then he and his friend jigged for walleyes at the mouth of the river. It was on fire! They boated 42 in less than 3 hours. The walleye bite is peak right n...

Early spring smallmouth
This video was from last week Saturday. Fishing is only going to get better....
Now that Casey is just over 1.5 hours away, he'll be catching his fair share of St. Clair smallies and Detroit river walleyes in the next few weeks!

Lake trout madness
This winter is nearly as carbon copy of last year here in the midwest. Last year was the first time I launched the boat ALL winter (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb). Same thing this year! Lake trout taste like crap here, but they are a blast to catch.

Lake St. Clair smallies
Casey went solo to St. Clair for smallies last Saturday. Looks like he's loving college at Michigan State!

Re: Madison Chain
The most upstream lake will be the clearest. The water color will generally get better and better as you go downstream. This is due to more run-off and etc as you go downstream. I believe this is discussed in the home study course in detail. Below satellite pic confirms this as you can see. The most...
