Re: Structure and Contact Point

Brian - thanks for the input. If you were approaching this for the first time, how would you fish it? The basics say start in the shallows, but the shallows are nowhere near the contact point. It appears too deep to set up in 10' of water, but Is casting the correct way to check this area?

Re: CONTACT POINT

I really like seeing these posts (I often go back to the old "Lake of the Month") threads. I find it very helpful to try and pick out the best spots and compare my results to other more experienced spoonpluggers. Thanks!

Ken - I appreciate your positive attitude. At 71 years, I don't have a lifetime of learning ahead either. Like you, I hope to get to the point I can pass on some knowledge to the kids & grandkids - even if it is just enough to send them on their own journey.

Re: This is what I see coming

Musky Addict - I admire your persistence and dedication - your post makes me put in my 2 cents: If a student wants to learn to play Led Zeppelin music, the instructor won't tell him to get an acoustic guitar - even if he gets the notes right, it just won't be the same. If a house painter wants to le...

Re: Snow and Spoonpluggers

It took me a long time to find it, but this is my solution. it's 17' long so can go anywhere a car can, and it is totally self contained

At least it's Friday - who cares? I'm retired

I wasn't really sure where I should post this, since I DID catch one (6") fish, but I don't think I can really call it a fishing report. So I headed out this morning to beat the rain and map some spots. Seems everyone else took the day off, as the parking lot was chock full. There was only one ...

Re: This is what I see coming

John, I seem to remember the tournaments banning trolling when Buck caught all the big fish. I imagine that if I came up with an electronic box that allowed me to catch more and bigger fish than the tournament boys, they would change their rules in a heartbeat. The technology is going that way, and ...

Re: Thoughts about a net?

Thanks, Brian

I ordered a Ranger Tournament Series rubber net. Made in USA, lifetime warranty on everything but the rubber, which is replaceable. $59.99 and free shipping from Scheels.

Thoughts about a net?

No, not thoughts about Annette I'm looking to replace my cheapo net with something suitable for solo fishing from a 14' boat. Buck gives some limited info but I would like your thoughts. Since I'm by myself 99% of the time I don't think the handle needs to be any longer than necessary to tuck under ...
