flashers

I was in the boat with Fran Myers last summer for a few days and he uses a vexilar flasher. I saw nothing wrong with this setup. Vexilar also allows you to pick the degree of transducer for the model that you buy and also allows use of a switch to go from one angle to another. One for shallow water ...

eye aid

My father had macular degeneration and when he passed away, he had a camera that he bought so that he could see to read his bills and a newspaper. It hooks up to a television set. I believe he paid a rediculous price of $2500.00 when it was new. If there is anyone out there that could use something ...

Yes there is a good walleye bite in the late fall and they do well at night. It happens on lake erie also. Mr. Perry always said that the spoonpluggers have learned to catch their fish in the daytime and there is no need to go at night. You will have to talk to the locals to find out where and how t...

You fish those lakes around Madison and make me proud. They are loaded with good fish. That big one has the best population of pike and big walleye that I have seen in years. They are a piece of cake. The locals are not hurting them a bit. They are yours for the taking. Good luck. Glad to help. John

Bill, If you have a movement at 9 am you would expect another sometime in the afternoon. Normally your movements will be down to one in the late season and it will occur between ten and two. But nothing is set in stone. If you fish often it is interesting to note what time it all takes place. You ca...

Yes you can put a larger sharper hook on the 700 and 800's and they will run just fine. Not a shark hook but maybe one size larger or the same size but a sharper hook. The only size that seems to have problems putting a larger hook on it is the 100. John

Hi Fran, Braided lines do not stand up against zebra muscles. They will cut it like a knife through butter. Maybe they are not bad where you are but where rocky bottoms and zebra muscles exist in tandom, you will need either a piece of heavy mono or use your stainless steel to make a leader. Any tim...

braid

Hey Marty, Braid does not attain as much depth as wire. It does have a time and place but not into the extreme depths. For the way that it is more easily used and for ripping weeds and depths from 15 to 30 feet, it will work just fine but will not replace wire. I have used it plenty and always have ...

Hi Harold, I tried to call you last night. Deb and I were talking about you and I thought I would give you a jingle. The number in the directory must not be correct.

Douglas, One of my absolute favorite fish to catch and eat are crappie. Denny and I made a good catch very early in the season right after ice out. The crappie are spawning at this very moment around here. The muskies have been done for about three weeks and the walleyes are nearing the end of their...

Hey Doug, You finally came out of your den for the winter? Took my daughter fishing when she was about 7 or 8 years old. She wanted to ride in the boat as I was backing it down the ramp. I did the rope around the winch thing too. Only the rope didnt stay around the winch. I will never forget the loo...

I am thinking about selling my truck camper. It is made for a short bed truck. Its a 2006 model. The make is a Starcraft which is where I work. I was able to buy it at a discount price and can offer it at a very good price. They are in the area of ten grand for a new one. I will take no less than $4...
