Re: The "EMMROD"

Dont waste your time with anything other than a Buck Perry trolling rod. End of story. That way you know you have the best and there is no question on the equipment. Yes it is pricy but you will come out ahead in the long run. John

spoonplugs for sale

I just got a phone call from John White and we talked for a long time. This man has been a spoonplugger for a long time and he is a good one. He has fished along side of Mr. Perry a number of times and Herb Krammie used to be one of his fishing partners so he has caught many bass over ten pounds fro...

Re: Clear Water Reservoir

This is the clearest water I've ever seen. And your just getting started spoonplugging? Steve, give him something to start on besides this place. I couldnt believe this clarity at these depths. I like a challenge but this place would woop even the best spoonpluggers for most of the time. Find yourse...

Hi Phil, Yes it has a pistol grip made of cork. The handle tightens up on the metal ferrel on the end of the blank. John

Some stuff for sale

Anyone know what a stubcaster fishing rod is? I have two of them for sale. They are antiques for sure. I also have a clearwater classic(my original) zercom flasher for sale for those too stubborn to change to the new stuff. Also I have a Buck Perry trolling rod that Terry said was one of those that ...

Re: Lake of the Week

Bill, Another good looking place with over 20 structure situations and a slew of great looking spawning flats. When ever I see a lake with a lot of flatter areas, I like it so much better than a steep and deep body of water. You said we need to fish it now and for this part of the season we are way ...

Bill, Actually, the teacher is gone now and the rest of us will always be his students. Really nice lake. Never shy away from a lake just because it is clear. Our guidelines take care of anything, deep, shallow, or inbetween. Learn to fish them all!!! John

Re: This weeks lake of the week

Ok.......... Here is my 2 cents. The area just north of the 66ft hole and the 68ft hole would get a good checking. The bar on the north west end of the lake would be a good one for the bass. You might think that it is too far from deep water. Follow the 68 ft hole to the west and this bar is at the ...

Re: This weeks lake of the week

Bill, I am already licking my chops on this one. The water color will be on the clear side with the depths shown. Several classic spots with some lesser spots that could be good also. Waiting to hear from some others first before I chime in. Nice lake. John

Re: Mapping and Interpretation Part 2

Mr. Perry told me that a yellow green is better than brown. When he and Terry fished Monroe Reservoir when it was teeming with small bass, Mr. Perry commented that he did not like the water color. It was a brownish tint(not cypress). Always better growth with a yellow green. More fertile(better poop...

Re: Mapping and Interpretation Part 2

Bill,
It seems to me that he said that about a reservoir in southern Indiana. Said that the reason it would be loaded was because the breaklines were deeper than most of the fishermen were fishing. It may have been poisoned out shortly after the catches were made. Dont that figure.

Fishing Show

I was watching the fishing show, Hook and Look this weekend and his guest was Johnathon Van Dam. Does Van Dam sound familiar to you? Anyways, they were actually fishing a lake that I am very fond of. A deep clear lake in sothern Michigan. The interesting thing about the show was that the kid(Van Dam...
