Re: spoonplugs for sale

That was a while back. I am sure it is long gone by now. Sorry. John

Re: Detroit river sturgeon

Brett, Deb and I enjoyed watching you work for that fish. We have hooked up with many of those things and every time we get a big one, that feeling of looking at a fish that might be older than we are is amazing. I know that we snag them but the darn things just won't get out of the way of that bump...

Re: How to strain the shallows...

One time in my life, John Zaborney and myself got to fish along side of Mr. Perry and Jeri down in Florida. Every single lake John and I would blast to what was known to be the best fishing area and Mr. Perry would tell us each and every day to go ahead and he would meet us there. What would he do? ...

Re: going price on older 900 series Spoonplgs ?

You will get that kind of money out of the saltwater lure. I have one myself. Big difference. Now that the guys know what you have, you might get an offer. John

Re: going price on older 900 series Spoonplgs ?

What I was trying to say is that I am suprised that the 900 is worth that much. It wasn't that long ago that Mr. Perry was giving them away at one of the outings. I took a guy out a long time ago to teach him about spoonplugging and he said that his father left him all of his spoonplugs. He said tha...

I have four of them. How many of them do you want for even a better price. I have some that Mr. Perry signed also. Wonder how much those are worth? John

Re: Lake St. Clair with Jim & Gino: Day 3 Part 1: BIG MUSKIE

The reason that Duplex caught most of the musky is because they did more trolling than anyone else. For those of you that don't know, this is the first time that Jim Duplex has ever had a casting rod in his hand. He does a little casting in the pond at his house but that is because they won't let hi...

Re: Highland Reservoirs

Hello Douglas, I am glad there is a second opinion from a real spoonplugger that thinks like I do. The old spoonplug will give you all of the answers that you are looking for. The real key is to get out there and actually use them. Part of the problem with the new gadgets is that a fisherman will ge...

Been there and done that. You will find one that works. Did you break it on a fish? John

Re: Rods?????

Here is what I have been doing. The newer line counters are different than the old reels. The way that they are made now does not allow the part that tightens up to sit down into the seat far enough. The metal piece is now one piece and all is the same level. In order for it to work you will have to...

Re: Highland Reservoirs

I have nothing against Bryan. I want to help him. A while back, I mentioned that he should spend more time learning how to run lures and in the long run, it would help him see the light. The things(shortcuts) you learn along the way are learned by sticking with the basics. I am not worried about Kev...

Re: Highland Reservoirs

This was not an ouchy. An ouchy is given in a private e mail or with a phone call. I hate to see someone get off too far in the wrong direction. I enjoy it when everyone associated with spoonplugging is having success. There is always a reason when that is not happening. In the late 80's I took 4 ye...

Re: Highland Reservoirs

Bryan, Sorry, but when reading some of your posts, you make my blood boil. If I would actually say what is on my mind right now , Jim Shell would ban me for life. So I will just say that your guidelines for helping someone find the fish on this lake are totally hogwash. He would be far better off st...

Re: Sound familiar? Bassmaster classic winner

Bink, I enjoy watching the Bassmaster Classic every year. You can watch the weigh in on line live. It is always educational to see what it takes to catch the fish, especially in the conditions that they faced. Many of our spoonpluggers are half assed spoonpluggers. I can say this because I am only r...
