Re: The Buck Perry Series

Two of Terry O'malley's favorite lakes were Palmer and Randall in southern Michigan. I fished them right behind him. Mr. Perry gave me a map of both and told me to go there. They were both dark yellow green and I mean dark and now both have been messed up by the weed sprayers. Wouldnt walk across th...

Re: Master class in Picture taking!

David, The green book is just the basics of what we NEED to know . There is so so so much more. Like for instance, I was with a guy on lake Erie that showed me that the smallmouth are not always on the bottom. I could not accept this right away because the book told me to always keep my lures either...

Re: Master class in Picture taking!

Again, in order not to cover Steve's last post I would like to comment on Dons talk on roadbeds. This guy is a very good teacher. He says all the right things it seems. The story he told about taking the writer was fantastic. His observations of the shoreline terrain came from his experiences on the...

Re: PVC rod storage

Steve, You have no idea how many times Chase has been teased over the years for that video. It still comes up at some of the outings when he is around. You have no idea how bad I wanted to attend Dons classes in Canada. I did not have that kind of money back then to attend it or I would have. Back t...

Re: Fish Fingers

Jim, Didnt know they were available. Always made my own. Good find. Over 300 smallmouth so far this year. Put 31 of them in my lake. Cant wait for the weather to warm a touch to get back out there. Had my worst day yesterday. 6 fish only. This last front kicked their butts and mine. John

Re: PVC rod storage

Education

I did not post this in the video section because I didnt want to cover up such an important post so I did it here where there has been no action. Don Dixon is a great teacher . The most important part of your future(how good you will get) depends on your study and to believe in what you read as trut...

Re: Pre fronts Post fronts

We were talking about pre frontal conditions and I said not to stay at home just because of that. Look at the sky conditions in the pictures of the bass I posted. Look what you would have missed if you had stayed at home. Just a thought. John

Re: Pre fronts Post fronts

Lots of great answers from everyone. Steve keeps his guidelines by the book which will keep you out or trouble. There are always exceptions and conditions we cannot see or completely understand. Do not let a post frontal condition keep you from going fishing. Some of the best days we have ever had c...

Re: Study

Forgot something. I took my dad to Harwood in December. It was snowing and I will never forget this. The lake was very clear. We caught about 100 bass on blade baits. Most of the fish came from 15-20 feet and just as soon as you hooked one, you could look down and see them swimming around . They wer...
