Re: My Spoonplugging beginning (and ending?)

Good story. Enjoyed reading. I really believe that anyone can become a good spoonplugger in a few short years without much help. However...….. there will be some hiccups along the way where this forum can save a person a lot of wasted time. If a person has the real desire to learn, they will make su...

Re: pure spoonplugging

How are you David? By the way, the Ranger is still doing me well and with a new 60HP Tahatsu. Ok...…….. I carry a pair of small cutters that will cut a good size musky hook very easy. I couldn't work on either side with both hooks together so I cut the middle finger hook as close as I could where th...

Re: Buck trivia question

Think about this . What makes the spoonplug the best lure for keeping the fish in a frenzy and allows us to catch the most fish out of a school. The ability of the spoonplug to control depths and speeds at the same time and the walk...………..the walk...………..the walk...……..again the walk. So...………..if ...

Re: Buck trivia question

Buck did mention the daredevil as a great jump type lure so Jim might just win the $1000.00 for the right answer. There is money involved right? John

Re: Buck trivia question

A spinner bait is great for cleaning out your pee hole on the outboard. Cut the hook off and the spinner. Throw it in the back of the boat and it wont blow out. John

Re: Buck trivia question

I could only assume that if the situation allowed for the casting of a spoonplug , the spoonplug would be my first choice if knowing exactly where the school is located and if I could get the boat in the correct anchored position. Your question is what other lure would keep those same fish in a simi...

Re: Pulling the plug on YT comnents section?

Steve, You are exactly correct in all that you said. I had a 2 1/2 hour talk with Mr. O'Malley a few days ago. He always mentions the good old days and many of his stories I have heard before but enjoy hearing them every time. In his later years this mean tough guy ended up fishing with a preacher. ...

Re: Fisher lake, Three Rivers, Mi

Nice job Hal. My first visit to that lake was in the heat of the summer. I had been tearing the fish up on Portage, a little to the east of there. I fished it shortly after they put in the public access site and it was loaded with smallmouth, pike and good LM. If you haven't figured it out yet, I ha...

Re: Florida fishing with Don & Donnie!!!

Great fish who ever caught it. Bigger than anything I ever caught. My timing has never been good when going to Florida and some of that time was spent learning what to do. My last trip was the one that taught me the most. Just maybe will find the time to go back some day. What a fish. John
