Re: old spoonplugger
They did a massive weed spray on that lake a few years back and wrecked the great fishing. I hear it is on the rebound but it will never be what it once was. That was a fish factory at one time. Let us know if its worth going back when you get back on the water. John

Re: The Die hards!
Same boat here. My lake has been frozen for a week. One open spot in the middle. I have one lake left that is the last to freeze. Caught 88 there a few days ago including 4 walleye. One of my friends lives on a lake where the basin he lives on freezes last. I can call him and if that part of his lak...

Re: lake type
I have never gotten the handle on an exact lake type. If I miss that part and get a bad grade, does it mean I won't catch fish out of this lake? Yes, one look at a good lake map will give me an idea if it's one of the three types and for me that's good enough. I don't see the importance of being abl...

Re: Structure vs Cover Part 2
Have decided not to post my thoughts on a couple of statements Don made on this last video. Sometimes it is best to just appreciate and not say anything. Take Care. John

Re: Structure vs Cover Part 2
I have to make a few comments on this last video. It is difficult to make statements that may go against the grain of Mr. Perry's teachings but if you fish enough, there are exceptions to the rule. If you are so narrow minded in the way that you do things or close your mind to learning something new...

Re: Lets try another
Do not place much thought on colors. Buy the pretty ones you like and you will have confidence that they will catch a fish. We all have our favorites. I like the ones with the sharpest hooks. John

Re: Getting the JB1 and 2
Just a reminder in case you missed this post. Again, I am taking a one time over the winter pre paid orders for the JB lures. This is a one shot order for all of next season and after that, I'm going fishing. I will fill all orders over the winter and have them to you before our season starts in Mar...

If they don't move, you can't catch em
This fall fishing is some of the most unpredictable times of the season. One day you have a great day, go back the next time and with what looks like the same condition, fall flat on your face and get nothing or next to it. After seeing lots of conditions, seasons and bodies of water, I can say one ...

Re: Fall Fishing Part 1 of 2
Around here, most of our theroclines in the deeper lakes are around 30 feet. We have had some decent days but not real good with some crap days inbetween. I have friends who are out there the same days I am so am lucky to be able to compare a days fishing with others. It seems like when the fish don...

Re: Fall Fishing Part 1 of 2
Don describes that there is something that takes place in the fall which eventually creates a stable condition which may cause fish to come shallow and create some easy fishing. What he does not say that from the very start of the cold nights, the sinking and mixing of the surface water creates a ve...

Getting the JB1 and 2
This summer I mentioned not making the JB's. This created a panic and we sold out of the 2's in a short time. I mentioned taking pre-paid orders and everyone agreed this will work. A one time winter project per year and done till next fall. So if you are interested in stocking up for next season, I ...

Re: End of a Hole
For those that are part of the National, I have written an article about how Mr. Perry states that any time we catch a fish, it will be either on a break or a breakline. I take you on a trip around my 160 acre home lake and we talk about every major break (turn) on the weedline that is productive. D...

Re: New Lake Day 3
Brett, What does the structure look like that you are sitting on. What is the water color of the lake you are fishing and how deep do you think most fish came from. Were the fish on a break or a breakline? What made you throw the stupid alabama rig? How did you position the boat in relationship to t...
