Re: people

Jim, Many of us have bled our guts out for years trying to share what we know to those that will listen. There have never been more than a hand full that not only will listen but actually make something of themselves. We all know that if we did not take the time to read the study material, we would ...

Re: Braidwood CATS

Anyone who spends a lot of time on the water and fishes many bodies of water knows that every lake is different. Years ago I always said that if a person has never gotten into a school of bass on the cast ,using spoonplugs, he really has not reached the ultimate goal. A conversation with O'malley a ...

Re: Braidwood CATS

What's up champ? These are cooling lakes. The discharges make the water extremely hot which does not fare well with the largemouth spawn. Yes there are some but they do not thrive in this lake. Our water temps here at home are 67 and you heard him say it was 90 degrees. All the Chicago spoonpluggers...

Re: “Crown” of a bar

Don Dixons mapping process is something you must learn to perfect. Without the ability to map and interpret, you cannot go any farther. It is simply the fastest way to know what is there. You make your own map which is the best way. Once you have it, now you can fish it and get the rest of the answe...

Re: Buck Sez...

Terry, Buck and Bud was at Hess lake and into the bass from an anchoring position and I mean into them. They rented a boat that was leaking and every fish they caught were just thrown down onto the floor of the boat. Terry said the water in the bottom of the boat had about 4 inches of water with all...

Re: Green Bay Walleyes!

I just can't wait to post. This thing sat for too long without anyone saying great job Jim and punk kid. Again, great stuff and better than that, great effort. Putting a light on top of a plainer board ? I guess you know where its at!!! Lucky for you that you didn't get a ticket for having a board l...

I remember you well. A lot of spoonpluggers never got to meet Mr. Perry. You have a great dad and you have a good start. Keep it going for us old guys. Take Care. John

That's awesome. I've gotten a few of those things on the Detroit River, most always snagged and some giant ones. I bet that took about an hour out of your life. John

Re: The drop shot

Scott, Your right. You cannot bump. No hard bottom with the exception of the north shore where you can touch a little and not pick up junk. Lakes change, especially when the weed sprayers show up. You never know what they are going to do. If they don't nuke the hell out of it, not such a big change ...

Re: Bucks Baits SpoonPlugger 101 reel for sale

DSCF9352.JPG Used to use these a lot for trolling and casting. These are direct drive reels. When you turned the handle, the line comes in. When fighting a fish, instead of having a star drag, the round part controlled the amount of tension when still engaged. You still had the push button to push ...

Re: The drop shot

Yes you do. The saddle between spot 2 and the hump is 15 ft deep with scattered weeds and does not get the good bass ever but plenty of smaller fish. The one side of the hump( the corner closest to the 34 ft hole) was my money spot all spring but for some reason took a big dump come summer. Good eye...
