Re: Structure

Years ago I took a student to a shallow flatlander by my house. After that day he looked at me and told me he had passed up many spots because they did not have 30-35 ft of water available to the fish. When I reminded him there are two things that were mentioned, the deepest water in the lake and th...

Re: Structure

A bass is never lost. If anything, it is the fisherman that is lost. This is their house!!! The main reason the bass need the ten feet and a path that leads to the shallows is for the spawn. There are no questions we have that cannot be answered by spending time on the water. The answers come by act...

Re: New Member from Michigan

Actually we are a bit like a cult who believes everything that Mr. Perry wrote because as we did what the book said, we caught fish like never before and the light bulb came on. We knew we found the right way to go. Actually , once you do this for years, it's a bit like being on drugs(the bad ones)....

Re: Structure

Our guidelines say that in order for largemouth to use a hump, it must come to at least 8-10 feet on top. Sometimes after major cold fronts or in the winter, bass will use humps that are deeper than 8-10 feet . The only way to know the answer is to fish it and find out. If you fish enough, you will ...

Re: Old fishing forums

Bottom line. If you want what some of us have, You have to be willing to do what ever it takes to get it. Lots of time on the water, following Mr. Perry's guidelines to a tee, that will include a tiller boat, the purchase of each size lures, rods reels, lines, study the material from front to back o...

Old fishing forums

Every once in a while I go to a forum where fishermen discuss spoonplugging. For most of the time, once I go through these things, my blood boils, sometimes I laugh. Sometimes I realize that Mr. Perry took this kind of punishment for all of his life and wonder how he was able to handle it without ha...

Re: Ron Lindner RIP

When Ron was writing that article, I got a call from him asking me how to get ahold of Terry. Deb answered the phone and had this funny look on her face and when she handed the phone to me she said....... it's Ron Linder. When he spoke, I know it wasn't a prank. He asked me a few spoonplugging quest...

A top notch spoonplugger

I called my long time friend Denny Coulardot this morning and as always, we have great conversations about fishing. I was on his lake the other day with my wife and my son was in his boat. As I was going to the next spot, I followed the deepest water and saw on the map a big flat bar that led to a 3...

Re: How To Catch The Biggest Bass Of Your Life This Winter!

This guy has some very good videos. Don't think for a minute that if we lived and fished those same bodies of water that soon after, we would be hated or considered legends. John
