Spoonplug hooks

Post by beckman44 »

A question to you guys that fish for large Muskies. Have any of you guys ever experimented with putting larger, stronger hooks on the back of the 7&800's or do you feel that would change the way the lure performs. I have personally caught several Muskies the way they are, but have also had some nice fish get off. Maybe I am just getting used to seeing the Muskie baits out there with Shark hooks. Thanks, Bill Beck.

Yes you can put a larger sharper hook on the 700 and 800's and they will run just fine. Not a shark hook but maybe one size larger or the same size but a sharper hook. The only size that seems to have problems putting a larger hook on it is the 100. John
