Trolling Rod

Post by Fran Myers »

I was mounting a reel to one of Bucks Trolling rods when I discovered the rod was loose in the handle. I really tried to get it tighter but I can't seem to get it figured out. Any idea's?

The reels are the Cabelas Depthmaster Line Counter Reel. They are sold out of last years model but this years model of the same reel is availible for $79. The current year model is DMG-15 sells for $79. It is machined aluminum and has a big handle. I think its a great reel. Can't wait to use it.

The size and weight are PERFECT for the rod. I start putting line on tomorrow.

loose reels on handle

I have run into similar problems with my reels on the spoonplugger rod. I have one of the older type no longer made. After tightening it down, the mag 10 (no longer made) actually will come off. So.......I put black electrical tape on the handle to tighten it down. Works for me.
