Filet mignon catfish

Took my daughter fishing, 1/2 day at Clinton and 1/2 day at Braidwood. We caught many fish (but this is not a fishing report). I usually keep the cats from Braidwood and give them away to the shore fisherman. I enjoy doing that, as every time they bring a small panfish basket and I love the look on ...

Blue cats

This is a 250 series spoonplug, eaten by a 37lb blue. Do you think the depth and speed control was right?

Re: Tournament Trolling

True! I heard Buck tell the story at the first spoonpluggers jamboree in 1989. As Buck told the story, Ray approached Buck with the idea of starting big fishing tournaments. He explained that it would be similar to golf tournaments, but fishing. He told Buck he didn't want any of his spoonpluggers w...

Re: Absolute Proof Video

I took a break from everything (including here) for the past two weeks.
Yiks, looks like i missed a few things! First time I'm seeing this post. I'm going back into hibernation until we get open water!
Taking a break from mainstream media, feels good!

Spoonplugville

When we had the Nashville outing I mentioned Old Hickory was to be the home of "Spoonpluggvile"
I found an article in the old National Spoonplugger, giving an update on it.

Re: Terry O'Malley on the basics

All those boats were either a "Troller" or "Trophy". they were pretty much identical, but I believe seperate companies. They were built/designed specifically for spoonplugging/contour trolling. Don Dickson is the one that came up and worked on them originally. One of his YouTube ...

Ron Lindner RIP

Just saw the news that Ron Lindner passed away last night. Ron and Al were spoonpluggers back in the day. In an interview a few years back Al said once they read Buck's material they started catching fish like nothing before. Terry O'Malley was very fond of the Lindner brothers. I don't know the ful...

Re: New to Spoonpluggers

Welcome Robert! At one time, I believe in the late 60's and 70's the Dallas area had the 2nd largest club (Nashville was the largest). But times have changed, I don't know of any spoonpluggers in Texas. It's a shame, with all that water down there. I'm planning on a long road trip to Texas in anothe...
