Curious if trolling was the only thing keeping spoonpluggers away from winning all the tournaments then why isn't the walleye trail leaderboard all spoonpluggers year in year out? Trolling is allowed and widely used in these events. Obviously a walleye is a different species with different behavior...

That Go-Devil was a very good jump lure for deep breaklines (down here and back then, a 'deep' breakline was 25-30 feet). We see a variation of this in several of our flatland impoundments here in Indiana. In this case, the "muck" is silt that has washed in and settled over the many years, often filling up entire creek channels and related breaklines. But on some lakes, the wave action from boat traffic wakes...
