Re: Qustion for John Bales

Ken, The Regular action Trolling rod is for running the first 3 lure sizes, for the most part. The Heavy action is for the larger size lures. Some guys prefer the short handles and some the long handle. I still have my original trolling rods that i bought in 1973. Ive added different handles, and re...

Re: Structure and Contact Point

Im with Fran on this one. 42 feet is the deepest water in the area. That is the Home of the fish. The only way to know for sure is to MAP IT!!! I see what looks like a good breakline around the bar at 16 feet(according to the map). Using only your depth finder....... Find the Crown first, then drive...

Re: CONTACT POINT

Ken, We must remember that in order for a structure to produce, it must go "all the way". Deepest water in the "area", and all the way to the shallows. Your spot only goes to the 28 foot hump and dead ends there. You might pick up a walleye or two under bad weather, and this spot...

Re: CONTACT POINT

I like Brian's post and I agree.
I also would check out where that old roadbed goes up that point.
Good looking spot.

Re: Finally…

It is an awesome looking boat Fran! Looks "almost" identical to mine! I absolutely love mine! I only have one very small complaint. I dont like the position, even with the sliding seat, of the driver seat. Im working on a solution to be able to move the position without having to drill a h...

Re: Animal Movements

Phil, I know i have posted this before, but from 1996 to 2008, I ran a Guiding business called Arizona Predator Hunts. I guided Predator callers only. Got published in a couple National Magazines, and became quite famous for calling Mountain Lions. Have done and still do seminars for the various Pre...

Re: Finally…

Very nice Fran. I did install all new rod and storage locker locks on my boat. Also added my own invention of Lockr Bars as well. Not as fancy as the Real Lockr Bar, but mine only cost me $30 to make and not $300, and work just as good if not better. I also bought a Butt Seat from Bass Pro that matc...

Re: Tournament Trolling

Jim, Thats the same story Tom Ferencek told me as well. I once asked Bobby Murry after he gave a Presentation at the Indianapolis Boat, Sport and travel show why BASS didnt allow trolling.( I already knew why) but wanted to hear his answer. He looked at me and said, you must be a Spoonplugger! He ac...

Re: Snow and Spoonpluggers

Yes
The 09 is a Half ton with Hemi. Good truck.
I put the Delete package in my 12 diesel and fuel mileage went from 12mpg to 19 hyway.
The 2 newer 20"s get almost 20 from the getgo. My 18 gets 17 hyway with no load. All trucks are Crewcabs.

Re: Snow and Spoonpluggers

Marty, Mine is a 6 speed automatic. It also has the Iasin(sp) Transmission. I also replaced the constant front wheel,4 wheel drive with new Lock Out Hubs. Was hoping to get more fuel milage, but I don't think it helped but maybe 1 mpg., if that. We have 4 Rams out of 6 in my Business Fleet. One 09 g...

Re: Nature stuff

Yeh, the eagles are everywhere it seems. Out west, we have so many, that they are wrecking havoc on small game, as well as big game numbers. Don't think an eagle can take down an elk calf? Think again. I've seen one eagle kill a coyote, in just a few minutes. But baldys, only catch fish!!! They are ...

Re: This is what I see coming

Brett, Ive been watching Randy for a while now. He makes some really good and valid points. I once thought like he does way back when they went from the Flasher to this paper graph and the first LCD depth finders. Back then i thought they were going to ruin fishing with all that new technology. Mayb...
