Large Flat

One For John Bales This is bothering for along time. I have been catching muskie in the weeds north end of one of our lakes, good size muskie up to 45 inches. From the deep hole to the edge of the weeds it is over 4000 feet. I went over the flats dragging a spoonplug to see if the bottom is differen...

Re: Ranger for sale

John is right. If you have line sights you can hit a spot with an ocean liner. When I purchased my 20 foot Yar-Craft I was a litle concerned about spoonpluggin/trolling. I owned a Shell Lake boat with a 25 hp Evinrude and I tought that was made for spoonplugging, I really liked that boat. The only r...

Re: situation

Anyway this is an awsome body of water. Just beeing on the water with John Bales would be an outing that no one would forget antyme ...

Re: Our government wants us to stop fishing

Next time some one will tell us that will be changes, we better find out what the changes will be, before we vote them to power. Yes we need to challenge this people and vote them out at the ballot box. We the people have the power to do it. For any one that wants to get more news since the main med...

Re: Powerpro line

Hello John I am so glad that you have put some imput on this Power-Pro or braided line. First of all I want to agree with you that there is no substitute for wire, I have two rigs spooled with wire, the other two rigs are spooled with Braided Dacron line I choose 60LB due to is the same diameter as ...

Re: Powerpro line

spnplgr The knot you describing is Berkley Trilene Knot, some time also referred as Dowble Jam Knot, the only difference is that you are dowbling the line. It is a very good knot. Trilene has a newr knot called Improved Berkley Triline Knot this knot beside going back to the two small eye loops it r...

Re: Powerpro line

Hey Bill I may have mislead you. I only had problem with the 30LB. Braided line. I hate to mention brand but the one I had the most trouble was the Spider wire line. I use 80LB Power-pro for casting and 60LB. Cortland braided for Spoonplugging. Cortland it has been making muskie line for a long time...

Re: Powerpro line

Bill I have used 30LB Braided line in the past and I lost quite a few lures especially when you are bumping hard bottoms and worst yet when bumping rocks. It does not withstand shock very well. I do like braided Power-Pro and for trolling I use 60LB, it is the same diameter of 12LB No-Bo line. For c...

Re: What color and size spoon plugs to get??????

Woody It is 1:25 am cannot go back to sleep thinking how to catch that 50+ inch muskie. As fur as SP sizes you need to follow MR. Buck Perry guidelines start with the first 3 sizes 500, 400, 250 and learn how to troll the shallow once you feel that you are contrible fishing the shallows and you are ...
