Re: harris

Champ check out the large bar that runs out to the deep water(Harris Bar 1). Map it, troll it, interpret it. All the way to 30+ feet. Pay attention to the bars at the end of the cut opposite the fork in the road. Do the same for what looks like a feeder stream cut(Harris Bar 2). Post your results he...

Re: Structure vs Cover Part 2

With you on that John. Same here with respect to the misconception and misunderstanding of stratification and the thermocline, which Buck touched on in a very simplistic way.

Re: block of wood lure

Love it!! This guy is really talented. Check out his other videos, Marling Baits, on Youtube. He makes a lure on site, catches a fish with it, and then cooks and eats it; River Bank Build to Catch + Clean & Cook. Makes a lure and catches a bass.

Re: SE Michigan, checking in ...

kgalla02 you sound skeptical, and I agree with Jim Duplex. From your post your attitude suggests you will fail. Spoonplugging works, but it is not a magic bullet. It requires work; study, practice, experience, and a lot of frustration along the way; all of which will take time. The results are worth...

Re: Where would you fish?

Is there a delta condition along the channel? The junction of the feeder creek and the channel just north of where the channel swings in toward the bar. Might want to check that out.

Looking back to the first posting in July 2017 to the latest one, April 20, 2019, you talked abpit moving to a new state and unfamiliar lakes. Discussions on Electric motors, props, batteries, fishing with Carolina rigs, bait walkers, spinner baits, crank baits, spoonplugs, trolling different depths...

Re: Contrails And You

David, Buck left out the information about the formation of contrails because, other than the fact they exist and what they indicate, it doesn't add anything to ones fishing knowledge. The paragraph below will give you some insight into the formation of contrails; Interesting if you are interested i...

Re: SANFORD RESERVOIR

Looks like a lot of trolling water. I'd check out the causeway where US-10 crosses the lake. Note the 26' slot on the east side(your map is rotated left 90 deg, i.e. N is on the left side, N side at the base of the causeway where the channel swings in close, 24' with a breakline at 16', another at 1...

Re: Retrun to the Forum

Hi Charlie. Welcome back to the fold. You are not alone; your hair hurts, your teeth itch, you have window pains, etc. One has all good intentions. e.g. "Tomorrow looks like a good day. I gotta get out.", but then... At 82 it's hard to get revved up when the temperature is 90 deg. or 40 de...

Re: Ray Roberts Lake

Ray Roberts was flooded in 1987; right after Joe Pool Lake. I fished RR around 1988/1989 before they had boat launches; just back down a road that ran into the lake to launch. Don't remember too much about it except the lake was not clear cut. The Dallas Spoonpluggers had 100+ member at one time, bu...
