Another question for John and others
The other thread was getting pretty long, so I thought I would ask these questions here. Now......another question? What causes the fish to move from their summertime structure locations, to the steeper wintertime locations? And the second half question ties in with it.....when, in the fall, do they...

Re: Depth Sounders, Graphs, and Flashers
Bill, Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate them more than you know. Jim, A very nice way to say all that we were wanting to say in a very few words! Thanks! John, One of the best posts on here yet! I am going to start another thread on the subject matter of my next question. Please lo...

Re: Depth Sounders, Graphs, and Flashers
I didnt see a thermocline on either Kentucky or Barkley. I didnt expect to either. Where there is current, you will not see the thermocline for the most part. Here is a few pics of thermoclines: http://www.angeln.de/praxis/echolote/lcx-16ci--b256-deep-water-test-report Here is what Hummingbird says ...

Re: Depth Sounders, Graphs, and Flashers
John, Would I be correct in saying that the same situation exits in a Reservoir, at the "channel within the channel"? Steve PS. We just got hit with our first severe cold front of the fall here. Bad one with a 25 degree temp drop. Looks like we will be heading for the steep deep sides of t...

Re: Depth Sounders, Graphs, and Flashers
Interesting.......no comments on using Spoonplugging guidelines for hunting! Just last week, I hunted with a friend from NJ. First part of the week we had a bad front come through. No animals called the first day after the front. None called on the second day Only a coyote and a fox called the third...

Here you go Bink..... I got these using Spoonplugging as my guidelines. And I am serious here too! Bucks teachings can be used in the hunting world if you know how to apply them. http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff118/SteveCraig5/BobsCougar.jpg http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff118/SteveCraig5/...

Re: Depth Sounders, Graphs, and Flashers
"he will have to invest a lot of time/money getting it set up." Money maybe.........Time?????? I dont think so. It took me longer to mount my transducer than it did to read and learn to use the manual for my Lowrance DSI unit. I spent 30 minutes mounting it. And it only took John Bales 5 m...

Re: Depth Sounders, Graphs, and Flashers
Gotta agree with Fran on this one fellows......... Not one person here is trying to " buy success in a fancy wrapped package". Just the opposite. If that is your perception, then you would be wrong here. I thought we were having a very fine DISCUSSION on the differences between the differe...

Re: Depth Sounders, Graphs, and Flashers
Josh, The 1st pic is regular Sonar. You can see the arches and ball of baitfish. The next one is a DSI shot of the same image. You can see the arches are replaced with white dots. And the bottom pic is simply a Side Scan image of the same shot. I believe the narrow band of yellow in pic 1 shows a pr...

Re: Depth Sounders, Graphs, and Flashers
Josh, It is my personal opinion that the DSI DOES show me a better picture of the bottom, hard/soft, than regular sonar. Out here, I look for the DIRT in an otherwise rock/hard environment. I need to be able to see that soft dirt areas. I just like the DSI better, and the very clear pics it shows of...

Re: Delta ridges
What happened to Frans post? I dont see it. You have to understand......this cold front was one of the harshest in a very long time. When you cant see a jet trail for 6 days, then it is a bad one. The one good fish I hooked, came from 41-42 feet and as Frank Hammil said you can tell by that telltale...

Re: Delta ridges
Josh, I feel they will migrate along the main channel breakline until they hit a spot that leads them all the way. Now......a question for you. Maybe Kenny will jump in here as this pertains to him. On Chickamauga he finds fish stacked at spots(cuts, dead end washes, slides etc) that do not go all t...

Re: Larger hoop plug knockers to fit jb1 and jb2
I'll take one Kenny.
I'll send Wayman a check to you, if that works.
Guys,
If you havent got one of Wayman Knockers,.......get one! I have two of his regular ones that I bought at the Jamboree, and I paid for both of them in saved lures on Kentucky lake alone!
Worth every penny.

Re: Flatland Resivor Structure Interpritaions, SEASONAL/Wea
Mr. Bush, With all due respect, I must disagree with you as well. I spent many years trolling the first 3-4 sizes of spoonplugs. I have to say it cost me many extra fish that I should have caught. But what was worse, is it cost me knowledge......... knowledge that certainly would have helped me down...
