Re: Anybody out there
Joe, There are a couple of spoonpluggers in NC that I know of but not sure how close they might be to you. When I first started back in the early 70's , there were three of us that knew nothing. We read the green book, there were no clubs, no internet, no one to help us. It was years before I saw so...

Well done Ken. Good effort. Doing the right things provides a lot of personal satisfaction and the motivation to learn more. You will never get to the point where you can't get better. That goes for all of us. Good job. Say hello to Sarah for me. I miss her. John

The 2023 season How was yours?
So today I start about two weeks of depression. Old man weather is taking away the thing I love to do for a couple of months. It happens every year. Time is spent taking reels apart and oiling , greasing and put them into being ready for the next season. I have jigs to pour and tie so when the ice d...

Re: Not finding what is on the map....
Navionics maps are so bad. Sometimes your boat is up in someone's yard according to the map. Many times I am trolling a nice bar and the finger I go around is 100 feet away on the map. My way points on some of the bars with more than one finger are not even close to matching up with the map. The bes...

Re: Madison WI Fisherman - Did Bucks Study Course and I'm Hooked
Laughing............. The JB lure is not rare, just not advertised. At one time, a saltwater company was supposed to give me a little gas money to buy the whole works but they have yet to make a move so I still have over 100 available. They are 20 bucks each plus shipping. They really are not for be...

Re: Livescope
Here is something I have learned by observing with Livescope. Some of the very best schools of bass in the heat of the summer are on very flat, less obvious features and none of these spots are directly related to the deepest water in the lake or near any fast drop offs. Some lakes are showing no sc...

As of today, I don't want to give up any of my tools. I use them all with spoonplugging guidelines in mind. John

Just watched Jacob Wheeler discuss FFS . He was asked what the number one thing he has taken from it. His comment was that every fishing magazine you have read in the past, throw them away and use them for starting a fire because nothing is in stone any more. Something like that. I agree. Bucks guid...

Re: Livescope
Douglas, I am most certainly still doing the livescope. I am learning not only the part that Mr. Perry gave us which has always been found to be on the money but also learning the part where he said that there is a lot more to learn. Have several schools of adult bass in my lake from 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 ...

Re: Livescope
Well said Brian. We all have different type waters but the things you said relate to how I use it also. Mainly, there are no wasted casts. You see what is there now where you could not see it before and now you can put your lures right on the money. Spoonpluggers benefit from the FFS more than any o...

Re: Livescope
So I just today have another opinion about my lake. I needed a change so I decided to get out early and go to a lake 10 miles down the road which is deep and clear, has a decent amount of pike and they have been stocking walleye in there for quite a few years. Not the greatest bass population but li...

Re: Livescope
Brian, Good questions. Bass population........ What has changed in my opinion of my lake now that I can actually see what is down there? I fully expected to see pretty much what I had expected to see. Also the spots I see the most fish on are pretty much the same spots I always catch them on. Howeve...

Re: Livescope
I will give you mine and you can throw it in the trash if you dont like it. Come down and pick it up. I think my old low was 72 inches wide. If it will fit your boat, come and get it. John

Re: Livescope
Those are a pain in the ass. I have one but its sitting out of the way not being used. Umbrella's are the best. You will find out there are too many things in the way with a top like that. Sorry for having to say that but it's true. Some like them. Maybe you will find a way it will work. John
