Re: Livescope
Pat, Your learning will start all over again. Your trolling will become 95 percent and casting will be simply less efficient. The spoonplug because of the summer speeds needed will be your go to lure. Normal speeds of 3-5 during the colder part of the season. There are many reasons casting will be l...

Re: Livescope
Yesterday Deb and I went out to our lake and found that the group of bass by the sunken island on the inside turn related to the saddle were not only still there but more in numbers. The larger fish are deeper than the rest and still suspended about ten feet down in 16 feet of water. It seems like e...

Re: Livescope
The last 6-7 times out, I would go out mid day. I did that to be out there in the blazing sun knowing it was the toughest time of the day. I got tired of not catching as many as I wanted to so today was on the water at 7:15. From my first spot till about 9:30 it was pretty easy, meaning that most fi...

Livescope
Since coming back from South Dakota, I have not fished any other lake but my own. My brother in law has a money problem so I have not had a partner for a while. Realized that when having a partner, you work a lot harder and longer because he has an investment in his time so I work harder to get him ...

Guys, Those of you who subscribe to the National , I am sure you noticed Jeri chose to do a reprint of a couple of Terry's articles. I am sure no one wants to see re-prints of anything, especially for the money you paid to subscribe. The reason she has to do this is the lack of participation from th...

Phil has made a move from the midwest to the state of Florida. Even before he made this move, we had conversations on my limited experiences I have had and talked about some situations he might run into. What a muck line looks like, how to set your depth finder in order to identify the muck lines, s...

Re: This is the way it is
Hal, Have shown a lot of different fishermen the same thing I did for you. It gives me great pleasure not only that a student listens but my biggest joy comes when I see a person expend good effort into the learning. That effort always brings success, something that is lacking with many. You cannot ...

Re: Milfoil
Spraying poisons into our lakes is not healthy for fish or humans. Our fisheries here are paying the price and somewhere down the road, humans will pay. No one really knows how this stuff is destroying the ecosystems of a lake. I see the results in the actual fish catching and it is not good. Still ...

Re: Milfoil
Joe, I would rather have to take an extra few minutes trying to motor through that tall thick crap on my way to the outside weedline than to see those in control that think they are doing us a favor come along and kill everything in the lake, including a lot of the adult fish. I wish I had a tall th...

Re: Bridge piers
If the fish were a little more active, the rip rap would have produced. It appears that the movement has been restricted to the edge of the channel. The left side where the fish are sitting appears to have a nice sharp breakline into the channel. The right side of the channel does not offer that sha...

This is the way it is
Had a phone call from a guy who wants me to take him out and show him where the walleye are in a couple of lakes. After a bit of conversation, I told him that there is a reason he is having trouble catching them. This may seem harsh but the truth is the best way to go. I told him that he had never s...

Big Bass Zone. Bill Siemantel. Like I said before, I keep waiting for something to come along that could help me. So far, other than increasing the size of the baits you fish with, nothing has really given me much to be excited about. Not done with either of the books so maybe something will happen....

Re: Thoughts
So are you giving credit to the lure itself? Was it running free. Were you running a spoonplug on the rod you were holding? Was the held rod bumping some? Since you weren't holding the other rod, how would you know it was bumping other than watching the rod tip now and then. What were the two lures ...
