Re: Fishing Deep
Very interesting post. Actually mind boggling! We do have very strong thermoclines out here, as summertime temps can be 105 to 115 and sometimes more! Especially on the Highland/Canyon lakes. The Natural lakes are at high elevation (above 7000 feet), and rarely have a thermocline if at all...

Re: lake okeechobee spoonplugging
Fran, I too believe this to be a fantastic conversation. More should join in. A lot of knowledge here for sure. I still have and use one of the old Spoonplugger Depth finders with the Needle. When working the Florida lakes in the late 70's, I had no problem seeing and running 6 inch breaklines. I wi...

Fishing Deep
Obviously no one wanted to discuss this thread. Here for several days and 20 views and zero comments. A shallow water thread goes 4 pages long! But bring up the subject of deep water, something Mr. Perry said we should get better at, and NOTHING. I am sorry if I offended some on here by asking a few...

25 Reasons I owe my Mother
25 Reasons I Owe My Mother 1. My mother taught me to appreciate a job well done: "If you're going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning." 2. My mother taught me religion: "You better pray that will come out of the carpet." 3. My mother taught me about time t...

Re: Boat umbrella
Bob,
I went to Walmart and bought 2 of the Patio 6 foot ones. About as tough as they comes, and the poles are very stiff. Mine are only a year old, but still going strong.

Re: Movement Times
Welcome Ramrod25, Fran gave you some very good advice. Dont try to do too much, too fast. Practice trolling the shallows, then casting the shallows. Then after learning to do this, learn to troll the deep and then cast the deep. It is your lures that will show you what, when, where, why, and how. Your ...

Excellent story! Mine was a little different, but similar. I had been fishing mostly small creeks and farm ponds, because I was afraid to venture out onto a HUGE lake. Mostly casting the shallows. Every once in a while, i would notice that there would be alot of fish chasing smaller fish and minnows...
