Re: Fishing Eagle lake in southern Wisconsin

Not used to watching a video from you without Casey  Looks like he missed a really good trip, Jim...and no other boats on the lake on a Saturday - what a blessing. Enjoyed the video.

Re: Don Dickson Interview

Shoot Jim (Shell) a message - a great way to kill 3 hours (listening to Don). Probably could have easily doubled that time with a couple more questions - LOL. Don's a talker

Re: New to Spoonplugging

John - perhaps someone will have a better answer, but the scale variation seems to be random. If you go to Buck's page now where they still sell them, you'll see scale variation even within their own pics (see below). I'd actually be more inclined to think the difference in eyes was the more signifi...

Re: New to Spoonplugging

Welcome, John! Buck once said (paraphrasing a bit), "If you ever run into any problems out on the water, you just grab that little booklet and reread it, and you won't have any problems for long." Even better that you have a copy of the Green Book, too. Most everything you'll ever need to ...

Re: Indiana Law

The problem, as i see it, is what is idle speed? For a big boat, it might idle at 4-5 mph. While my 16 ft. Lund with a 40hp motor will idle at 2-3 mph. Kinda hard to enforce and be fair. 312 IAC 5-2-17 "Idle speed" defined Authority: IC 14-10-2-4; IC 14-11-2-1; IC 14-15-7-3 Affected: IC 1...

Re: Indiana Law

For some reason, I no longer receive the Indiana SP newsletter, but the rule has been on the books for a long time in regards to state reservoirs. It is a bit more recently applied to some natural lakes, especially the ones with strong lake associations (Wawasee, etc.). IC 14-15-3-17 Minimum distanc...

Toledo Bend, TX

I thought this was kind of neat. If you follow the professional tourney trails at all, then you know Kevin Vandam just won the Toledo Bend Elite event with over 96 pounds of bass. One of his key spots, and the one that gave up two bass over 8 pounds is shown below with two different Navionics maps. ...

Fishing News/WI Spoonplugger - SOLD

Just an FYI for any Spoonpluggers that might be interested. I've put a complete set (74 issues) of Fishing News newspapers on eBay for sale. The earliest editions were called " Fishing News and Wisconsin Spoonplugger ." They were started by Bill Binkelman, originally to promote and sell sp...

Personally, with the little 500, I prefer to tie directly to the split ring when casting.

Happy New Year back to ya,' and to all Spoonpluggers. Will likely be in bed before the magic hour strikes. Too old for all that partying and celebrating. Wife just came in the office and complained about not knowing who any of the musical guests are on any of the New Years TV specials  Not like...
