Re: Lake Wateree SC
No way I could pick out the best bar, but a quick look around showed an awful lot of nice looking stuff worth checking out if it was me. I really like the looks of some of those “complex” structures that appear to have multiple bars and breaklines in a small area. Agree on some of those upriver chan...

Lol - “ancient Chinese secret”
I once found one of Larry Nixon’s spots on Kentucky Lake from a tiny black and white photo of a small map section that was part of an article on ledge fishing

Re: BASS JAIL
Lol - I learned structure fishing when the only thing available was paper maps, so I got pretty good at reading them and being able to find spots on them. Just takes a small capture to get the ball rolling. On your original question, I’d guess ‘yes,’ that some fish would cross that barrier (or go ar...

Re: BASS JAIL
Looked that area up on Navionics to blow it up a bit and see detail better and it shows a clear channel path through the cove. Do we know for sure which is the accurate version of the mapped area?

Re: Northern NJ
Welcome aboard. Jersey isn’t the first state that pops into mind when thinking about fishing, but then I realized Iaconelli, Aveena and Kumar are all from there (bass guys), so it must be halfway decent fishing - lol.

Re: The odd ball
I see this a lot walking ponds. When the bluegills move in to spawn, you always see some bass just hanging out and cruising through the area. Pretty sure it’s just some of the bass population taking advantage of all that “food” piled into one area. Easy pickings. A wacky worm is a great bait for cat...

Re: Buck had an amazing life - Facts and tidbits
His obituary covered a lot of his early career/sporting stuff well: https://www.bucksspoonplugs.com/Elwood-Buck-Perry--July-10-1915--August-12-2005_b_5.html I did dig up a few other things this morning: Buck was "best man" at his brother's (Chester Perry) wedding in 1934. Chester worked wi...

Re: Structure situation ?
I’d expect most to spawn in the coves and pockets/bays just north of there by following the main river channel and then the feeder stream cuts. Can’t tell much more because of the limited map capture.
