Buck had an amazing life - Facts and tidbits

This july 15th, Buck would have turned 107! Hard to believe he's been gone for nearly 17 years. We all know about all of his contributions to fishing, but he has done soo many other things. Every time there was a jamboree, outing, or get together there was always some new story that was told. Many o...

Another long time spoonplugger

This spoonplugger left a comment on my last video. It surprises my that there are so many other long time spoonpluggers that are out there that seem to stay out of mainstream. Dennis has been spoonplugging for 50 years. In the past few weeks he has been posting videos on Youtube, check them out. It'...

Re: New member

Welcome! If I had to stay in the corrupt state of Illinois, I'd move to Decatur. Lake Decatur, Clinton, Shelbyville all close by. And you have the BEST Ma and Paw tackle store I have ever been to, Mike's Tackle World. Definitely would recommend everyone to stop in there if you are driving thru or cl...

Re: reservior

3 hours away... For me that would be CLOSE! I'd be there all the time if it was only 3 hour drive! Love fishing new reservoirs. I'll be making an (epic, I hope), trip Thanksgiving week. Going to fish several reservoirs down south, starting on Grenada. Grenada has a lot of spoonplugging history...

Re: chase klinestecker video

HA! That was me standing behind Buck at the 1st Jamboree in 1989! 24 years old. I went to the first (5) Jamboree's (1989 to 1993). I think it went a total of 10 years? That was the first time I met Buck. I stayed at his house in 1991 and helped out at Buck's baits. Seems like yesterday. Lifelong mem...

Braidwood CATS

Fishing is always hit or miss during the late summer/early fall. Some lakes that are often overlooked this time of the year are cooling lakes. They receive lots of pressure when the open in early spring, but the pressure dwindles to near nothing at the end of the season. We went to Braidwood lake on...

Re: Summer bar

I'd go with these two. The first choice is a nice looking bar at the entrance of a major feeder arm.
Runner up is another nice looking bar in another major feeder creek. Both are mid/upper lake spots, so better chance of good water color.

Re: Off season chores

John.. I don't recall that the snags were that bad at all. I did not run across any old trot lines. Some snags, but I've seen far worse. I only fished a small portion of Old Hickory, not sure if it is consistent throughout. The top of the delta is very shallow (less than 8ft to just below the surfac...
